Q&A: Centracchio on this weekend’s Air Show

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — When the Rhode Island National Guard open house and Air Show takes off this weekend, it will be minus the headlining act.

As we reported on Monday, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds cancelled their performance following a crash last week in Colorado.

The jet crashed following a flyover at the Air Force Academy graduation.

The pilot, a Massachusetts native, ejected safely and was not seriously injured.

Eyewitness News Analyst Gen. Reginald Centraccho (ret.) joined Eyewitness News at 5:30 on Thursday to discuss the event.

During his tenure, he served as Director of the Rhode Island Emergency Managment Agency and as Rhode Island Homeland Security Advisor – becoming the first Adjutant General to hold all three positions simultaneously.
