Police looking for suspect in East Providence bank robbery

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The East Providence Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect who robbed a city bank Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, the TD Bank branch on Newport Avenue was robbed at about 2 p.m.

The suspect is described by police as a white male with light-colored hair and standing approximately 5-foot-5. Police said he didn’t show a weapon and fled the scene on foot.

No injuries were reported during the robbery.
