EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – This week on the first half of Newsmakers: Rhode Island Commerce Secretary Stefan Pryor. The near $9-billion state budget includes hundreds of millions of dollars that pass through the R.I. Commerce Corporation to use as incentives in an effort to bring jobs to the Ocean State. Pryor discusses how the money will be uses, why the state got involved with ProvPort – helping get a $20-million bond referendum on the ballot – and the impact of General Electric’s announcement that they are moving a tech division to Providence. Pryor also gives an update on the vacant Superman building.
