RICHMOND, R.I. (WPRI) – A Connecticut man convicted of breaking into a home has begun serving a prison sentence.
Police said John Sasman broke into a home on Carolina Nooseneck Road in Richmond and stole jewelry back in October 2014.
Sasman, 30, formerly of Niantic, pleaded no contest in April to a charge of breaking and entering a dwelling house with felonious intent.
The police department says details of his arrest were not immediately released, because at the time he was charged, he was serving a prison sentence in Connecticut for an unrelated crime.
Sasman was sentenced to 10 years, with 30 months to serve at the ACI in Cranston and the remaining 90 months on probation.
