Police ID victims of Richmond rollover crash

RICHMOND, R.I. (WPRI) — The Richmond Police Department have identified a teenager killed and man injured in rollover crash on Thursday afternoon.

An investigation showed that Grace E. Hanlon, 16, and her father, Paul L. Hanlon, 50 of Norwich, Connecticut were traveling westbound on Route 138 when a Chevrolet Impala crossed over from the opposite side of the road and hit their Jeep Wrangler head-on.

A news release stated the head-on collision caused the Jeep to rollover and crash into a utility pole on the westbound shoulder.

Police reported Grace Hanlon was unresponsive at the scene and later pronounced dead after being transported to South County Hospital. Her father was transported by Life Star helicopter to RI Hospital for his injuries, where he remains hospitalized, according to a news release.
