Man arrested for assaulting police officer

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) – A New Bedford man was arrested at a house party Sunday after he allegedly assaulted a police officer and resisted arrest.

Dartmouth police were dispatched to 12 Carrollton Avenue, North Dartmouth, Sunday at 2:30am for a loud house party.

Upon arrival, several people were asked to leave the home, during which time Alexander Andrade, 23, became unruly, according to police.

Andrade was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
