Man fatally injured on his way to a concert Saturday

WRENTHAM, Mass. (WPRI) – Massachusetts State Police are investigating after a fatal motorcycle crash in Wrentham Saturday.

State Police got the call just after 2 p.m. Saturday and responded to the crash on Route 1, just north of Thurston Street.

Police say a 46-year-old man from Mansfield was traveling westbound on Thurston Street in his Subaru Outback, when he turned onto Route 1 and collided with the motorcycle.

Boston affiliate WCVB-TV reports the victims traveling on the motorcycle were headed to the Luke Bryan Concert at Gillette Stadium.

Joseph Carpentier, 35, of Woonsocket, was brought to Sturdy Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

His 15-year-old passenger was brought to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Subaru and his three passengers were not injured in the incident.

There have been no charges filed against that driver, according to state police.

State police, along with the Wrentham Fire Department and Wrentham EMS responded to the crash.

It’s now under investigation by the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and Troop H detectives.
