SOMERSET, MASS. (WPRI) — A Somerset man was arrested, accused of breaking into his neighbor’s home and attempting to break into another home Sunday afternoon.

Police posted a picture of Bryan LaMothe on the department’s Facebook page Monday detailing the crime.

They said residents called 911 after witnessing the suspect knocking on doors and walking between homes, then emerging from one residence with a backpack.

After obtaining a search warrant for LaMothe’s home, police located the items stolen in the break-in.

Police said this same neighborhood has seen a recent rash of car break-ins, but did not say if LaMothe is a suspect in those cases.

LaMothe was arraigned on charges and ordered held on an unspecified bail.
