PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A Providence nightclub is challenging a decision by the board of licenses to require a police detail after four people were stabbed in the parking lot.
The attorney for Flow was back before the board Monday. He said the nightclub on Cranston Street was forced to shut down for four days this weekend, despite complying with the board’s orders.
He claims it was because the police department could not fill those detail shifts and says that the club should be allowed to remain open in those circumstances.
The hearing will continue into Wednesday afternoon. Police are still trying to obtain surveillance video of last Monday’s incident.
No arrests have been made in the stabbings.
