Driver charged with DUI after Warwick crash

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — A Providence man was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence following a crash in Warwick overnight.

According to Rhode Island State Police, Rigo Orellana was driving northbound on I-95 just after 3 a.m. when he rear-ended a “crash truck” working construction detail in the area of the Jefferson Boulevard exit.

Orellana, 25, of Putnam Street, was not injured in the crash, but responding troopers said he showed signs of intoxication.

Orellana was taken into custody on a DUI charge and held overnight at the Wickford Barracks. Police said his blood-alcohol content registered .116 and .112 in separate tests.
