Rhode Island man killed by tree limb while camping

MORRIS, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a Rhode Island man has died after a tree branch fell on him while he was camping in New York.

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office says Ryan Sutcliff, of Cumberland, was sleeping in his tent Saturday in the town of Morris when the large tree limb landed on him.

The 24-year-old Sutcliff was taken to Chenango County Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities are investigating.
