Rhode Island Red Cross turns 100

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Rhode Island Red Cross chapter is celebrating 100 years of serving the community.

An exhibit honoring the non-profit’s history will be traveling throughout the Ocean State during their centennial year.

“If you look back historically, there’s not a lot of locations locally that have been around for 100 years so we do feel like it is a milestone we should celebrate, share with the community and get others involved,” said Tempie Thompson, Executive Director of Red Cross, Rhode Island.

Along with the exhibit, the Rhode Island Red Cross is also hosting an anniversary gala in Newport this Fall.
