NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) – The Massachusetts Department of Children and Families is investigating after an 18-month-old boy was rescued from inside a hot car.
The boy was found inside the car in the parking lot of the New Bedford Savers store Monday afternoon.
Police told the Standard Times, witnesses called 911 after hearing the child crying and saw him sweating inside the locked car.
The baby was freed before police arrived and brought inside the air-conditioned store.
His grandfather was then located inside the store.
The grandfather told police, he stopped to talk to someone and forgot the baby in the car.
No charges will be filed against him.
