Owners of West Valley Inn accept buyer’s offer

WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — It appears as though the iconic West Valley Inn in West Warwick will soon be changing hands.

According to a news release, a sales bid for the banquet hall was accepted on Wednesday. Eyewitness News spoke exclusively to the sales broker on Tuesday, who said four offers had been put in for the property.

West Valley Inn is not yet disclosing who will buy the property – but David Cascioli, who made an offer, told Eyewitness News on Wednesday that his offer was not accepted.

Cascioli had said if he purchased the business, he would keep the banquet facility open and hire more staff.

The banquet hall and restaurant has been up for sale since 2014 but the sale accelerated in the recent weeks after the facility closed. Brides and grooms who were planning their weddings at the banquet hall were told their events would be canceled and their deposits were returned.

According to a statement from the venue’s realtor, the new buyer is considering multiple options for how they’ll use the facility – which may include keeping one of the food service venues open.

In the meantime, the West Valley Inn remains closed and any events planned to happen are off until further notice. According to the realtor, the sale could become finalized in about 60 days.
