The Vets to hold open house to show off upgrades

Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Providence recently underwent renovations to make it a state-of-the-art facility and it’s holding an open house this week to show off the new upgrades.

The open house will be held Thursday, Sept. 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

There will be tours of the building and guests will be able to explore the theatre, on stage and backstage, as well as the brand new Encore Lounge and other numerous spaces throughout the building.

The RI Philharmonic, FirstWorks, and Festival Ballet Providence will all be in attendance to promote their upcoming seasons at The Vets as well.

The Art League Rhode Island will host the opening of their new exhibit Beyond Choreography in The Vets Gallery. ALRI regularly curates a quarterly exhibit with local artists in the new Vets Gallery.

The Vets 2015-2016 season offers an eclectic lineup of shows including concerts, dance, stand-up comedy, philharmonic, and family entertainment. (Acts include: popular internet group Postmodern Jukebox, Mike & Molly’s Billy Gardell, comedian Kathy Griffin, singer Jackie Evancho, a cappella sensation Vocalosity, Norah Jones, Disney Live and more.)

The venue will offer discounts on tickets at The Vets Box Office (open for the event) to select shows for guests who attend the event.

The event is going to be a good time. The Vets really wants people to check out the building (maybe for the first time) and see what it has to offer. There will also be prizes and giveaways, music, food, and more!

The Vets is located at One Avenue of the Arts next to the Renaissance Hotel, Providence Place Mall and RI State House.
