A man is seriously injured after Seekonk explosion

SEEKONK, Mass. (WPRI) — A man is recovering from serious injuries after an explosion in Seekonk Friday afternoon.

It happened on Fall River Avenue, across from Seekonk Speedway near the Rehoboth town line.

Seekonk police say a shed exploded on the property and the victim was injured by debris caused by the blast.

Some of that debris was found as far as 300 feet away from the shed.

Authorities say a carbon dioxide canister is believed to have caused the explosion.

At last check, it’s being called an accident.
