TAUNTON, Mass. (WPRI) — The 39-year-old male who was killed in Saturday’s speed boat crash has been identified.
Police say Mark Greene, of Moultonborough, New Hampshire was announced dead at the scene after a three boat pileup during the Bill Giles Memorial Regatta.
Two other drivers were involved, according to a news release. One 67-year-old man of Bangor, Maine remains hospitalized in critical condition; a 72-year-old from Richmond, Maine also sustained minor injuries but is not hospitalized.
The three men were racing hydroplane vessels on Watson Pond in Taunton.
No foul play is suspected at this time but the accident is under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police and Massachusetts Environmental Police.
