BOURNE, Mass. (WPRI) – Good Samaritans are being credited with saving a woman from a fiery car wreck Sunday morning in Bourne.
According to police, at about 5 a.m. a 63 year-old woman crashed a Subaru into a utility pole in front of the Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School. By the time police arrived, two passing motorists had stopped and pulled her out of the car just as it caught fire.
The road was closed for about an hour an a half for cleanup of the crash and repair of the pole and roadway.
The woman, a Bourne resident, is being charged with operating to endanger and failure to stay in marked lanes, but police said neither speed nor alcohol were factors.
