Two under arrest after stabbing in Cranston

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) – Cranston police are investigating after a person was stabbed outside a bar Sunday morning.

Police told Eyewitness News Sunday morning that the incident occurred a few minutes after 1 a.m. outside the Red Lounge at the intersection of Dyer and Farmington Avenues.

The victim’s injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Arrest logs posted on the department’s website indicated that two men, one aged 29 from Cranston and the other aged 30 from Providence, were arrested in connection with the incident; both were charged with carrying a pistol without a license or permit, possession of a weapon as a convict during a crime of violence, and carrying a weapon while intoxicated.

Police said at noon that no other information about the circumstances of the stabbing were immediately available.
