Mass. trooper gives great Dane a lift; driver grateful

NEWBURY, Mass. (WPRI) — A driver took to Facebook to thank a Massachusetts State Police trooper who she said went above and beyond at the scene of a car crash.

The woman was in a crash on 95 South Tuesday while she had her great Dane, Cowboy, in the car. She wasn’t hurt, but the vehicle needed to be towed from the scene.

“I was at a loss. Cowboy would have lost his mind if I kept him in the car while it was towed,” the woman said in her thank you note. “Trooper Sulivan took the initiative to help me huge. He allowed Cowboy in the back of his cruiser, and dropped us off at a location right off the highway so that my husband could easily find us and pick us up.”

“I keep thinking how horrible it would have been if he was stuck in my car while it was towed. Danes are super sensitive,” she said.

State police said they were just happy the woman and Cowboy are doing well.
