This year’s CVS Health Downtown 5k has some new additions to race day.
On Sunday, Sept. 18, people of all ages will take part in a variety of races. Youth races begin at 8 a.m., followed by the 5K race at 11 a.m. and finishing with a high school run at 12:15 p.m.
This year, five athletes from the 2016 Rio Olympics will compete for the men’s and women’s National 5K Championship.
CVS Health has also added recycling stations and reusable water bottles in an effort to go green.
In the above video, race director Charlie Breagy and Meggan Ayres, Sr. Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility at CVS Health, spoke about the excitement of the day and the tradition of the race, now in its 27th year.
