WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — It’s not just a new office, said Gov. Gina Raimondo, who cut the ribbon at the new headquarters and resource center for the Rhode Island Office of Veterans Affairs Thursday morning. The state-operated resource center also has new caseworkers, and a new website with information on benefits and resources for servicemembers, she noted on Twitter.

The website, at vets.ri.gov, offers links for everything from counseling to housing, job training, disability compensation, transition assistance and more.

“The exciting thing is this is the first time ever, we’ve had a facility, an office, for veterans to come,” Raimondo said. “They can connect with a caseworker, it’s on a bus line, it’s near a train, free parking. ”

The resource center is located at 560 Jefferson Boulevard in Warwick.
