PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A Providence woman is facing assault charges following an incident at the Rhode Island Department of Human Services on Wednesday.
According to the incident report obtained by Eyewitness News, the woman was meeting with a case worker and became upset after being asked for identification.
Eyewitnesses told police the woman shoved a computer at the case worker and hit her with it.
As the woman was being escorted out of the office, the report states she started hitting two other employees in the face with paperwork while screaming profanities.
The woman – who has not been identified – was taken into custody by Rhode Island State Police on several charges, including simple assault on state workers and disorderly conduct.
