Police: Woman struck by car in Providence dies

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A woman who was struck by a car in Providence Thursday night has died, police confirmed.

According to a Providence police spokesperson, 76-year-old Marie Exilas passed away from her injuries.

Exilas was struck while crossing Orms Street at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Police said the car was being driven by a 34-year-old man.

The incident remains under investigation. Police do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
