Bus union blames blind spot for pedestrian’s death

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A safety specialist is following up in an investigation after a 30-year-old woman was killed by a bus in Kennedy Plaza.

30-year-old Michelle Cagnon, of Cumberland, was struck and killed by a Peter Pan bus while she was in a crosswalk. 

Now, the Amalgamated Transit Union, who represents bus drivers, is saying the is a huge blind spot for the operator in those types of buses.

The union official shared this photo and stated that this was cause of the crash that killed Cagnon.completely-blocked-window-dsc_5688

Providence police said this week that the driver will not face charges.
