Child pulled from Attleboro swimming pool

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) – Firefighters say a child is expected to survive a near-drowning in Attleboro Saturday afternoon.

According to the fire department, it happened a few minutes before 2:30 p.m. on Bridget Way. The approximately seven year-old boy was semi-conscious when firefighters arrived, and was taken first to Sturdy Memorial Hospital and then to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence.

The child is expected to survive, firefighters said.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident and are expected to release more information later Saturday.
