PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The price of a gallon of gas is holding steady in Rhode Island.
AAA Northeast says its weekly survey on Monday found the price of a gallon of self-serve, regular gas was unchanged from last week, at an average $2.18. That price is three cents below the national average.
A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was seven cents higher at $2.25.
AAA says it found self-serve, regular gas selling in Rhode Island for as low as $2.08 per gallon and as high as $2.25.

Prices also remained unchanged across the border in Massachusetts.
AAA Northeast said that self-serve, regular is selling for an average of $2.10 per gallon, the same as a week ago.
The Massachusetts price is 11 cents less than the national average and 9 cents lower than the in-state price a year ago.
AAA found a wide range in prices for self-serve, regular, from a low of $1.91 per gallon to a high of $2.99.
