Rehoboth police officers honored for hard work during standoff

REHOBOTH, Mass. (WPRI) — Rehoboth police officers who responded to a standoff last week were commended for their efforts by the town’s Board of Selectmen on Monday night.

Authorities say Benjamin Kimball had threatened to blow up the Cumberland Farms on Route 44, leading to a nearly five hours standoff with police

After being taken into custody, Kimball was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.
