MASHANTUCKET, Conn. (WPRI) — Connecticut State Police have identified the man who died during an incident Tuesday that locked down a portion of Foxwoods Casino.

As police were trying to take Michael Goodale into custody, he reportedly pointed a gun at the officers.

Goodale, 23, of Groton, was then shot by a Mashantucket tribal police officer and fell from the fourth floor of the Fox Tower Garage, according to police.

Tribal officers rendered first aid to Goodale following the shooting, but he was pronounced dead. It’s not yet clear if the shooting or the fall led to Goodale’s death.

No other injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for the casino told our sister station WTNH that Goodale had outstanding warrants against him.

The Fox Tower garage was closed during the police investigation. It has since reopened.
