WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) – The Energy Facility Siting Board for the state of Rhode Island is set to hold a pair of public hearings on a proposed natural gas power plant.

The first meeting will be Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Toll Gate High School in Warwick.

Chicago-based Invenergy has proposed building the power plant along Wallum Lake Road in Burrillville.

The Burrillville Town Council has held several public hearings on the proposal with the majority of those in attendance speaking out against the plan.

A second hearing will be held Monday, Oct. 3, at Burrillville High School.
