Westerly police release photo of bank robbery suspect


WESTERLY, R.I. (WPRI) — Westerly police have released a photo of a man they say robbed a bank on Friday, September 30th.

According to officials, a male went into the Bank of America Branch at 9 Franklin Street just before 2:00p.m.

The man handed the teller a note demanding cash and then fled on foot with an undetermined amount of money.

He was last seen walking out of the rear parking lot and onto East Ave.

Police describe him as a white male, about 5’8″ tall, medium build, wearing a green rain parker and a tan fishing style hat.
