Police: Multi-vehicle crash in Providence included ambulance

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are investigating a car accident involving an ambulance and two other cars in Providence. on

Police were called to the corners of Bucklin Street and Potter Avenue around 5:35 p.m.

According to Officer Jeffery Varone of the PPD, an ambulance was cautiously going through a red light on Potters while responding to a call when another car traveling on Bucklin Street failed to yield and hit them.

The third vehicle was traveling the opposite direction of the rescue vehicle on Potters Avenue, said police.

No one involved obtained life-threatening injuries but four adults were transported to Rhode Island Hospital and two children were take Hasbro Hospital, according to the fire department. The youngest victim was a six-month-old.

A rescue was dispatched to this accident and then to the original accident that the ambulance was originally headed for.

No charges in this crash have been filed. The crash is still under investigation by police.
