DA’s office ID’s driver killed in Fall River crash

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — A crash on Route 24 in Fall River Wednesday morning resulted in the death of one person, Massachusetts State Police confirm.

According to police, the single-vehicle crash happened at about 7 a.m. near southbound Exit 6. The driver was ejected as a result and the vehicle ended up in a wooded area off the shoulder of the highway.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s office said the victim – Albert Williams, 43, of Fall River – was driving a Cadillac Escalade when he lost control and went off the highway near the Wilson Road Overpass.

Police said the crash did not seriously impact traffic in the area.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
