FOXBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — The New England Patriots are getting ready for their next game against the Cleveland Browns and for the first time this season, there were three red jerseys on the practice field.
After being away from the team for four weeks as he served out his Deflategate suspension, Tom Brady made his return to practice on Wednesday.
Sunday’s road game will mark Brady’s first start since the Patriots’ loss to the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship back in January.
Despite being without their star quarterback for a month, the Patriots are sitting atop the AFC East with a 3-1 record.
Jimmy Garoppolo made the first two starts, but was forced to leave the second game early with a shoulder injury. Rookie QB Jacoby Brissett completed that game and made the next two starts. He too is ailing, having torn a ligament in his right thumb during the team’s Week 3 game against the Houston Texans.
Eyewitness Sports anchor Yianni Kourakis is at today’s practice and will have a live report from Foxboro on Eyewitness News starting at 5.
