Family: Woman died from injuries suffered in August fire

Witnesses say a fire sparked after a motorcycle crashed into a propane grill in Johnston on August 19.

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — The family of a woman hurt in an explosion caused by a motorcycle crashing into a propane tank has died, according to her family.

Family members said that Patricia Manney Jones died on Saturday after being critically wounded.

Eyewitness News first reported on the accident in August.

At the time, a neighbor had said the family’s annual pig roast was in full swing when the garage broke out in flames.

Manney Jones was expected to be back at home within three or four months.

A GoFundMe page that was raising funds to build a suitable home for her return will now be put towards funeral expenses, the family said.

Police have not confirmed Manney Jones’s death.
