Westerly parents push school superintendent to punish worker

WESTERLY, R.I (WPRI) — The parents of a child in Westerly that was left on a school bus after school one day in September are now asking the school to take action against the employee at fault.

In a letter from the parent’s attorney to the Westerly Superintendent Roy Seitsinger, attorney Gregory Massad called the actions by the school worker reckless and for the employee in question to be fired.

“It is shocking that you need to be instructed that this is the action you must take in response to an employee who, through a clear dereliction of duty, harms a minor child,” Massad said in the letter.

The Superintendent’s office stated on September 30 that they are investigating the incident and are taking it very seriously.
