Several injured after Providence Police cruiser strikes parked food truck


PROVIDENCE, R.I (WPRI) — Several people were injured after a Providence Police cruiser struck a food truck early Saturday morning.

The truck was parked on Broad Street when it was hit around 2:00 a.m.

Providence Police would not confirm how many people were injured or the extent of their injuries.

The officer along with several people inside and outside the food truck were transported to the hospital.

Police stressed that the cruiser did not hit any people directly and only struck the truck.

Police told the Associated Press that the cruiser was responding to a call at the time of the crash, but would not elaborate to Eyewitness News on the circumstances leading up to it.
