PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Providence is looking for a few good evergreen trees for the holiday season.
The city says on Monday that it needs two trees: one for the steps of City Hall and one for the Alex & Ani City Center Skating Rink in Kennedy Plaza.
It’s asking residents to nominate a spruce or fir tree that they want to donate.
The tree for City Hall should be 35 to 45 feet tall, while the tree for the skating rink should be 15 to 20 feet tall.
The trees selected will be removed from the residents’ property for free.
Two tree lighting ceremonies will be held: one on Dec. 2 at City Hall and the other on Dec. 3 at the skating rink.
