‘Light the Night’ to support cancer research

light-the-night

The night sky will be illuminated this Sunday as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society RI Chapter hosts “Light the Night”.

Starting at 5 p.m., walkers will carry various colored balloons to show their support. White balloons for survivors, red for supporters, and gold in memory of loved ones who’ve lost their battle with cancer.

Carla Mulhern and Walk Chair, Rick Lindholm, discuss the event in the video above.

The event raises funds for the following:

  • Lifesaving blood cancer research
  • Free educational materials and events for patients and their families
  • Local programs such as Family Support Groups and First Connection, a peer-to-peer counseling program
  • Comprehensive, personalized assistance through our Information Resource Center
