PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The temperature on Wednesday reached 83 degrees, breaking a record that’s held strong since World War II ended.

The temperature was recorded at 2:20 p.m. at T.F. Green Airport, marking the warmest Oct. 19 on record since 1945.
