Providence, R.I. – Brown senior All-Ivy wide receiver Alexander Jette (North Attleboro, MA) was named the Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week after he electrified the Brown Stadium crowd with a 79-yard punt return for a touchdown in the Bears’ 28-21 double overtime win over Cornell.

The 79-yard punt return is the seventh longest in Brown football history and the first punt return for a touchdown (other than blocked punts) since 2005. It came late in the first half to break a 0-0 tie. He finished with three punt returns for 85 yards, 10th best in Brown football history.

Jette also dominated the offensive side of the ball with nine catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns (18 and two yards). His two-yard TD reception in the first overtime came on a fourth down play and the Bears’ trailing by a touchdown.

A two-time first team All-Ivy selection and four-year starter, Jette’s 1,725 career receiving yards are ninth best in Brown football history, while his 437 career punt return yards are fifth all-time at Brown.
