Man jumped while walking in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD, Mass (WPRI) – A man is recovering after being jumped while walking.

Police say that at around 4:30a.m. Thursday, a 42-year old man was attacked while walking on County Street.

The victim had a gash in the back of his head and his left arm.

He called a friend and was picked up in the Purchase Street area and brought to the hospital.

As of Friday morning, no suspects had been arrested.
