Shots fired at pharmacy in New Bedford, nobody hit

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) – Police in New Bedford are investigating after shots were fired near a pharmacy on Acushnet Avenue Sunday morning.

Residents told police that a gray or green Jeep Laredo at the stop light at Tarkiln Hill Road and Acushnet Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. and witnessed somebody hold a pistol out the side of the vehicle and fire several shots.

The person appeared to be wearing a white plastic mask, the witnesses said.

The front door of the Rite-Aid was shattered by a bullet but nobody was struck.
