Police: Woman beaten, robbed on Federal Hill

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – A 50-year-old city woman told Providence police she was punched in the face and had her purse stolen while she was walking on Federal Hill Sunday afternoon.

The woman told police she was approached by two Hispanic males at the corner of Atwells Avenue and Acorn Street shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday. She claimed that one of the men punched her and the other made off with a purse containing $250.

The woman refused medical attention.

According to an incident report, a bank nearby may have captured surveillance video.

No arrests have been made.
