PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Rhode Island Supreme Court has upheld the murder conviction of a New Bedford man, currently serving two consecutive life sentences for a fatal shooting outside a Providence nightclub.

According to a decision released Monday, the Supreme Court said it had denied Terrel Barros’ appeal for a new trial.

Barros was found guilty three years ago of shooting two people outside Monet Lounge in August 2012. One of the victims, Jamal Cruz, later died from his injuries.
