The weather may be getting colder, but the events at Twin River are hotter than ever in November.

We spoke with Megan McGuinness-Advertising & Media for Twin River Management Group for the following rundown of hot happenings:

TOWER OF POWER & AVERAGE WHITE BAND
TWIN RIVER EVENT CENTER
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 12 @ 7PM
On August 13, 1968, Tower of Power, as we know them today, began playing gigs, and soon became very well known in the area. Since the beginning, Tower of Power has never stopped touring and recording. Always in demand, the band never fails to entertain and amaze their fans. AWB are widely regarded as one of the best soul and funk bands in the history of music. Though best known for their timeless instrumental mega-hit ‘Pick Up the Pieces’ the band’s strength actually lay in their consistently accomplished song-writing, stretching across several gold selling albums and multi-grammy nominations. While a good number of cuts – ‘Cut The Cake’ and ‘Let’s Go Round Again’- became hit singles, many other album tracks, like ‘Schoolboy Crush’ and ‘Stop The Rain’ became much sampled grooves. Doors open at 6pm, show starts at 7pm. Tickets start at just $35! All ages welcome.

THE MONKEES – GOOD TIMES: THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR
TWIN RIVER EVENT CENTER
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 19 @ 8PM
“I’m a Believer” & “Daydream Believer”
When four young men were cast in the television roles of a struggling rock band inspired by The Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night, few could have predicted the impact The Monkees would make on music and pop culture at large, an impact that still reverberates 50 years later. Assembled in Los Angeles in 1965 by Bob Rafelson and Bert Schneider for the television series The Monkees, the quartet of Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, Peter Tork, and the late Davy Jones brought a singular mix of pop, rock, psychedelica, Broadway, and country to their music. In the wake of Jones’s death on February 29, 2012, the surviving members of the Monkees reunited and performed a series concerts. The shows were greeted with sell-out response and phenomenal reviews. Now, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork carry on that tradition with a full evening of magic music and multi-media splendor, including clips from their Emmy Award winning series. Their new show features all of the Monkees hits, plus an intimate acoustic set and solo spots for each of the singers. This Evening With The Monkees is sure to please every fan of the band. You can see The Monkees live at the Twin River Event Center on Saturday, November 19! Doors open at 7pm, show at 8pm. All ages welcome!
