Local Pawtucket official stepping up after latest deadly shooting

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Three people have been taken into custody following last week’s deadly shooting of a Pawtucket man.

Now a local city official is taking steps to protect residents in the future.

Area Councilman Timothy Rudd oversees Ward 6 in Pawtucket, where 29-year-old Matthew Reverdes was shot and killed outside his Harrison Street home on Sunday.

“…make sure that we have the proper police force out there to gather intel, and make for a safer community.” – Timothy Rudd, (D) Councilman, Ward 6

Police announced yesterday the arrests of three people in three states.

The suspects are currently facing charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, but additional charges will be determined pending further investigation into the death of Reverdes.
