JAMESTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) – New construction work on the Mount Hope Bridge may lead to some traffic headaches.
According to the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority, the work begins tonight and will take approximately two weeks to complete.
Lane closures are expected to start at 8 p.m. and last until 5:30 a.m. for the overnight work; RITBA warns there would be “some short, full bridge closures for up to fifteen minutes at a time.”
Some daytime work will also take place; lane closures will run between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and officials say they want to avoid having any work taking place during rush hour.
No work will take place at night on November 10 or all day on November 11.
