Olneyville club to remain closed until Thursday hearing

Fete Music Hall

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A Providence music venue will remain closed as police continue to investigate a fight over the weekend that resulted in three men being stabbed.

The city’s Board of Licenses voted Monday to keep Fete Music Hall closed until its next meeting Thursday afternoon.

Fete, located on Dike Street in the city’s Olneyville section, was ordered temporarily shut down on Saturday following the altercation that morning.

According to police, patrons and staff members were seen fighting outside the venue at about 2 a.m.

The fight, which police said started inside Fete, spread down several blocks to a nearby car wash.

One man was transported to the Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening stab wounds while two others showed up at the hospital with stab wounds later that morning.

A trail of blood was found by police near the intersection of Agnes and Dike Streets to Oak Street where more blood was found in a parked car, stated the report.

Police said they don’t have any suspects in custody.

Fete was previously closed by the Board of Licenses in 2014 following a shooting outside that police said stemmed from a fight inside the club.
