PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — If Rhode Island voted for Donald Trump on Tuesday, it would be the first time a republican has won the state since Ronald Reagan in 1984.
“Rhode Island is a blue state,” according to Eyewitness News Political Analyst Joe Fleming. “We’ll see if Trump does better than what republicans normally do in the state of Rhode Island. But I don’t think anybody expects Trump to carry the state tomorrow.”
Many say that they see more Trump than Clinton yard signs along the road, though. “There’s no question the Trump supporters are more enthusiastic than Hillary Clinton supporters,” said Fleming.
At the end of the day, Fleming said, “signs don’t vote. People vote.”
